When you f**k around you find out Aaron Gordon with 21 stitches comes clean about dog bite

After enduring a freak accident involving his family dog, Aaron Gordon marked his return to team training on Sunday, having missed two crucial Denver Nuggets games over the festive period. He was notably absent from the 142-105 home victory against the Memphis Grizzlies and the subsequent 119-93 home loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Rottweiler, adopted at six weeks old, has been part of his family for around four years now. With his demanding NBA schedule involving frequent travels, his family takes care of the pet dog since he doesn’t get to spend much time with it.

Speaking on the incident during a press conference, he started by explaining the possible reason it went wild,

I love dogs. I grew up with dogs my whole life, but because we’re on the road so much, my dad’s taking care of him, so I can’t really train him how I need him to be.

He then threw more light on the incident, claiming:

I don’t drink a lot during the season. I probably had a little bit too much eggnog. I was kind of roughhousing with my dog, and I think my dog got a little excited and just basically chomped down. Gave me a bite. And I was basically wrestling him off of me, and then he bit my hand. For lack of better words, I was (messing) around with my dog, and when you (mess) around, you find out.

Despite requiring 21 stitches on his right shooting hand, Gordon dismissed concerns, stating that the league isn’t “a pageant.” In good spirits, he expressed gratitude to everyone who wished him well.

Aaron Gordon marks return in Nuggets win over the Hornets

Aaron Gordon was an injury doubt for the Denver Nuggets due to the freak accident he sustained on Christmas Day that kept him out for two games. It was quite surprising to see him in the starting line-up against the Charlotte Hornets.

Sporting a bandage to conceal the stitches on his right hand, Gordon played a crucial role in the Nuggets’ triumphant return to form at the Ball Arena, securing a 111-93 victory. He wrapped up the game with 10 points and two rebounds, actively contributing in his 25 minutes on the court.

In his third season with the Nuggets, he is currently maintaining an average of 13.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
