When he returned to the UK, Zonfrillo worked for Marco Pierre White again before taking his first Head Chef position at The Tresanton Hotel in England at the age of 22.
In January 2000, Zonfrillo returned to Australia as the Head Chef at Restaurant 41 in Sydney. Zonfrillo presently lives in Adelaide, South Australia, with his wife Lauren (Fried) Zonfrillo, a successful entrepreneur who also appears on Gruen regularly. Zonfrillo opened Restaurant Orana and Street ADL in Adelaide in November 2013, winning several awards for both. Street ADL was replaced by Bistro Blackwood in September 2017.
