Jelena Ostapenko is a huge Lil Wayne fan and she never shies away from expressing her love for the American rapper. And now, the artist has admitted that he is a big fan of the Latvian tennis ace too. On top of that, he has seemingly accepted her request to watch her play at the US Open later this year.

After winning her match against Ajla Tomljanovic in the first round at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Ostapenko has once again expressed her admiration for the rapper. She revealed that she was stunned to see Wayne’s post on social media and also said that he had messaged her. She then wished for him to watch her play at the US Open later this year.

He has like 19 million followers on Instagram, and when I saw this for the first time I was like 'Wow, he saw it and he’s aware of it.' It’s unbelievable. He also sent me a message saying that he’s a big fan of me as well. So for me, that was like … I was staring at my phone...I would love to see him in my box, maybe when I’m playing in the US Open or when I’m in the U.S. I would love to see him watching me play, of course!

It is worth mentioning that Wayne is not new to tennis as the rapper shares a long connection. The man they call ‘Weezy’ once accurately predicted both the men’s and women’s singles champions at the 2010 US Open and even sampled Elena Dementieva‘s signature grunt into his 2006 track “Sportscenter.”
